How does Cargoboard shipment tracking work?
You can track your shipments by simply entering your shipment number or your specified customer reference number in the left input field. Then just click on "Search" and you will see current information about your shipment. With Cargoboard you also have many more options to track your shipment:
- In our order confirmation you will also find a tracking link with which you can call up a status directly. You can also forward this link to your customers.
- You can also track your shipment in the customer portal.
- Of course, we are also available for you personally: We will also be happy to answer shipment inquiries by phone, email or live chat.
Tracking (Track and Trace)
The term track and trace describes a system with which the status of a delivery can be checked. The past transport route can also be traced. Shipment tracking is often used to track packages. At Cargoboard you can use it to check, for example, where your goods are currently, when they were picked up and when they are expected to be delivered.
Shipment tracking not only offers you as a customer, but also us as a freight forwarder the opportunity to continuously monitor the shipment. Thus, as the contractor, we can check during the transport at what time the package was in which location and the transports clock accordingly. The shipment tracking also serves to protect against theft and the disappearance of the goods. The entire supply chain can thus be tracked and checked.
In the case of customer inquiries, tracking the goods is also advantageous, as we are always informative about the location and the delivery time of the goods. As a customer, you are always certain of where the shipment is and when it will arrive.
How does tracking work in general?
In order to be able to track the shipments, each package needs a barcode. A barcode is a machine-readable label consisting of various wide, parallel lines and gaps. The data is read in mechanically at the interfaces using readers such as barcode readers (scanners) and further processed electronically. As a Cargoboard customer, you will receive a barcode label after placing the order so that you can print it out and attach it to the package. The barcode is used to clearly identify the package and enables the location to be recorded at any time.
