How does tracking work at Cargoboard?

With Cargoboard’s track and trace you can easily track your shipment. You only need the shipment number and the postal code of the consignee.

You have the following options to check the status of your shipment:

What is the benefit of tracking?

The term track & trace describes a system that can be used to check the status of a shipment. The transport route can also be traced.

Cargoboard uses track & trace to track all shipments. You can check when your goods were picked up, where they are now and when they are expected to be delivered. With shipment tracking, you as a customer have the certainty of knowing where your shipment is and when it will arrive.

Tracking also allows us, as a freight forwarder, to monitor a shipment. As the contractor, we know when the package is at which location and can schedule the transports accordingly.

How does Cargoboard track my packages for the track and trace?

In order to track a shipment, each package must have a barcode. A barcode is a machine-readable label consisting of parallel bars and gaps of varying widths. The data is read by machine at the interfaces using reading devices such as barcode readers (scanners) and processed electronically.

After placing an order at Cargoboard, you will receive a barcode label that you can print and stick on your packages. The barcode is used for unique identification of the package and enables location tracking at any time.

When will my shipment be delivered? (despatch advice)

If an appointment for delivery was selected when booking the transport, the delivery date will be coordinated with the consignee. The delivery can take place only after an agreement with the recipient via phone. If a prompt delivery is desired, a delivery without appointment should be booked.

When will my goods be collected? (pick-up advice)

If an appointment for the collection was selected during the booking, the collection date will be coordinated with the shippers. The collection is therefore only planned after a phone consultation. If you want your goods to be collected as soon as possible, book the pickup without an appointment.

Where can I find my shipment number?

You can find your order number:

  • in the order confirmation
  • on the invoice
  • on the shipping label
  • in your user account

How can I update my customers about the shipment status?

When you send a shipment with Cargoboard, you have the option of selecting whether the consignee should be informed about the shipment progress by e-mail.

In your order confirmation, you will find a link to the track and trace, where you can directly check the status of your shipment. You can also forward the link to your customer.

I am the consignee, how can I track the shipment?

If you are a consignee expecting a shipment from Cargoboard and want to track the shipment, please contact the shipper. They can forward you the order number.
